Kudos to the Canadian Parliament

I don't usually wax poetic over politics per se, but on the eve of Canada Day on the 1st of July, the federal government has passed a bill allowing same sex marriage. Kudos to those MP's who voted in favour of the legislation allowing same sex marriage.

Today, I am proud of my government.

So am I! In fact, I'm proud of Canada in general for being at the forefront of enlightenment on this particular issue. Only two other countries in the world have passed such a law. I think it's terrific.

Of course, now I'm curious to see if we get a sharp rise in the number of gay immigrants in the next few years.
